Form II Visit to Colchester Castle

On Friday 9th June, Form II had a really interesting and fun class trip to Colchester Castle. The first part of the day was spent visiting the Iron Age and Roman sections of the museum, going back in history and solving answers to questions, amongst all the artefacts. There was also the opportunity to dress up in Celtic costumes inside a mock roundhouse and experiment with the different tools used during that time. The children also had lots of fun with the Roman shields and helmets and posing as Roman soldiers.

After a picnic in the park, we went down into the vaults for a story tour of the Roman invasion and saw evidence of how Colchester was badly destroyed when Boudicca tried to defeat the Romans here.
