Lower School

A journey of discovery and learning

Our Lower School provides a nurturing and enriching environment that lays the foundation for a lifelong love of knowledge.

With dedicated teachers, engaging curriculum, and a focus on holistic development, we foster the growth and well-being of each pupil, ensuring they are well-prepared for the exciting educational journey ahead.

Fostering a love for learning

Building upon a strong foundation established during the Early Years, our pupils embark on an expansive curriculum meticulously crafted to ignite a lifelong passion for learning. As they progress, our approach takes on a more structured, traditional form, with a focus on subject-based learning.

In Year 2, pupils are introduced to 11+ Bond papers, encompassing Mathematics, English, and Verbal Reasoning, equipping them not only with exam competence but also with essential life skills for their educational journey.

Join us on a personal tour of the School

We would be delighted to invite you to our wonderful school and share with you what makes Oxford House School the best educational start you can give your child.

“There is no other school I could recommend more. When children are continuously going into and out of school happy you know it’s right.”

Specialised education and enrichment

Specialist teachers enhance the educational experience for all our pupils, providing expert instruction across a wide range of subjects, including Physical Education, Dance, and Drama. Furthermore, as part of our curriculum enrichment, pupils in Year 2 are introduced to weekly French language lessons and engaging swimming sessions.

These additional opportunities not only enrich their academic experience but also contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals, fostering a love for diverse subjects and physical activity.

Support for every child

Our small class sizes ensure that each student receives personalised attention and support from their dedicated class teacher. Continuous monitoring and assessment of every pupil's progress are integral to our approach.

Moreover, for any pupil encountering challenges, our Special Needs Coordinator conducts thorough assessments and, if required, provides tailored additional support, ensuring that every child's unique needs are addressed and met.

Enriched learning experiences

At Oxford House School, we believe in providing our pupils with a diverse array of enriching learning opportunities that extend beyond the confines of the classroom. Our pupils have the privilege of exploring a wealth of local museums and engaging in educational trips meticulously planned throughout the year, which serve to complement and enhance the curriculum.

These experiential learning journeys not only deepen their understanding of various subjects but also cultivate a sense of curiosity, wonder, and a lifelong love for exploring the world around them.

Begin an unforgettable adventure

From Nursery through to Year 11, we get to know and understand every pupil as an individual.
