Our Community

Supporting the community in as many ways as possible

At Oxford House, our commitment to making a positive impact in both our local and global communities is a core part of our ethos. We believe in the power of collective efforts to create a better world for everyone.

To realise this vision, we actively support a diverse range of charities and engage in various community partnerships.

Charitable endeavours

  • East Anglian Children's Hospice (EACH): We proudly support EACH, an organisation dedicated to providing care and support for children with life-threatening conditions and their families. Through our fundraising efforts, we contribute to their invaluable work, ensuring that these children receive the care and attention they deserve.

  • Children in Need: Our school wholeheartedly participates in the Children in Need campaign, raising funds to assist disadvantaged children across the UK. This initiative helps us instil empathy and social responsibility in our pupils from an early age.

  • Samaritan's Purse: We are dedicated to assisting Samaritan's Purse in their mission to provide humanitarian aid to those in need around the world. Our contributions support their projects, which include disaster relief, medical assistance, and community development efforts.

  • Poppy Appeal: Honouring and supporting our veterans is a vital part of our school's values. By actively participating in the Poppy Appeal, we contribute to the welfare of ex-servicemen and women and their families.

  • Many More Charities: Our commitment extends beyond these mentioned organisations. We actively seek out and support a wide range of charities, each addressing different societal issues, from environmental causes to healthcare initiatives and beyond.

Fundraising initiatives

Our dedication to fundraising is evident through various creative initiatives, which have in the past included:

  • School Garden Party: Our annual garden party is a delightful event that brings our school community together. Families, pupils, and staff come to enjoy a day of fun, games, and entertainment, all while raising funds for our chosen charities.

  • Cake Sales: Delicious treats and baked goods often fill our school halls during cake sales. These events not only satisfy sweet cravings but also serve as opportunities for our pupils to actively engage in fundraising activities.

  • Non-Uniform Days: On non-uniform days, our pupils have the chance to wear their own clothes in exchange for a charitable donation. This simple yet effective initiative encourages generosity and helps us support our charitable endeavours.
