Reception pupils go shopping

Pupils in the Reception class really enjoyed their trip to Tesco yesterday. In the morning, they made a shopping list of the ingredients they would need to bake their gingerbread and talked about how to organise their visit and how to stay safe. The children showed good awareness and suggested excellent ideas such as remember the green cross code, don’t talk to strangers, find someone in a Tesco uniform if you get lost in the shop, stay with your group and the teacher all the time. While at the store, the children used their list to find the necessary ingredients, took turns to use the wheelie basket and helped to pay and pack the shopping. They are looking forward to using the ingredients to bake and decorate their gingerbread!
